STRIPE PAINTINGS
Next to my house there’s a vacant block that’s been empty for years. The fence around it is covered in graffiti.
A few months back, someone came to mow the grass and pulled the fence apart to get in.
When they put it back together, all the slats were out of order… The graffiti was all scrambled up. It looked incredible.
I’m always hunting for new ways to abstract my work, so I stole the idea. Four new paintings came out of it.
Once again, life on the most unloved street in the neighbourhood delivered the goods.
